FAQ

What is your artistic inspiration?

Life. The little nooks of life where minds can wander.

What are your favorite materials?

I primarily work with graphite, pastel, and oil paint.

What is your style of work?

Ooh, that’s a tricky one. I have a hard time narrowing it to a single category. It can be described by conceptual, modern, contemporary American realism with abstract qualities… or some similar variation.

How long does it typically take you to create a piece?

That’s complicated because the timeframe varies greatly.
Some pieces come together quickly, others evolve over hours, days, weeks, months, or even years.

What is your creative process like?

It usually starts with an idea and a drawing. Sometimes I stick to the plan, other times I don’t. It’s not unusual to change directions mid-process. Overall, I try to keep a nice balance of fluidity and intention while I’m working. The process itself is as much an element in my process as the individual elements of preparation and working.
